At Town Hall level 15 in the game Clash of Clans, players can unlock the defensive building known as the spell tower. Unlike other defensive structures that shoot projectiles at attacking enemies, the spell tower activates a spell in its surrounding radius when enemies come within range. Players can choose from one of three different spells to load into the tower, each with its own unique effects on both defenses and attacking troops.

At its initial construction, the spell tower can only be loaded with the Rage Spell. When an enemy unit comes into range of the tower, it will launch the Rage Spell onto itself, increasing the damage of defenses and defending units within its radius. This also boosts the movement speed of defending units.

When the Spell Tower is upgraded to level 2, it can be set to launch Poison Spells. When an enemy unit comes within range of the tower in this mode, the Spell Tower will launch a poison bomb at the unit.

This creates an area that does moderate damage over time and slows down attacking troops. When the Spell Tower is further upgraded to level 3, it can be set to launch Invisibility Spells. When a building in its range is attacked by enemy units, the Spell Tower will launch an Invisibility Spell onto itself, making attacking units, defending units, and buildings in its range invisible.
